Production Logging

By SDI, Worldwide Production Logging Specialists

Scientific Drilling International (SDI) offers innovative memory production logging tools designed to be compact and provide accurate data. They are cost-effective alternatives to conventional wireline conveyed logging tools and are ideal for projects where:

  • Wireline is not practical
  • Deck space is tight
  • Fast response is critical
  • Safety and logistical advantages are needed

Tool options include all of the standard production logging sensors - pressure, temperature, spinner, gamma, CCL and fluid density - in a variety of sensor configurations.

“MPNN” Memory Pulsed Neutron                                                  click here for Product Sheet

The MPNN is a memory pulsed neutron logging tool which measures the capture cross-sections of the formation and borehole. These tools are often referred to as cased hole resistivity tools due to the correlation between the sigma log and the resistivity log from the open hole.

The MPNN can run using either slickline or coiled tubing, and provides better porosity estimates in gas filled boreholes. The MPNN is also better for identifying gas/water contacts. The MPNN provides high-quality data at a fraction of the cost, thereby making reservoir monitoring in remote locations or complex wellbores more economically feasible.

High Temp MPLT Logging System

High Temperature Memory Production Logging tools are rated to 600°F (315°C).

X-Y Caliper and Multi-finger Caliper                click here for X-Y or Multi-finger Product Sheet

The caliper tool provides information on the internal condition of the casing. This helps identify the presence of anomalies such as corrosion or casing wear. Information concerning the inside of the casing can help explain the loss of production or fluid velocity.

Multi-finger Calipers as well as X-Y Calipers are available in multiple sizes. High temperature capability allows for operation at 600°F (315°C) for 10 hours. Tools are available in 5.31" and 9.70" sizes for casing up to 13-3/8" OD. Additionally a 1.75" OD Caliper service is available for both standard and high temperature (428°F / 220°C) applications measuring 1.85" to 7" casing ID.  This tool makes 24 independent measurements.
